"Anatomy of the Mitzvot" is a weekly class with Rabbi Norbert Weinberg, Rabbi of the Adams Street Shul.  It begins Wednesday, November 5th, and runs weekly thereafter.  Each class can stand independently from the others; and there are no prerequisites.

Pre-Thanksgiving Art Show & Sale

Newton Open Studios will provide a great opportunity to see and buy art when it presents its first juried show, at the Newton Cultural Center on Nevada Street, November 22nd and 23rd, from 11am to 5pm. 

Nina Bozicnik, a Curatorial Fellow at the DeCordova Museum, will judge the entries.  Ten of the accepted artists will be awarded a group show for three weeks, at the NewTV Art Gallery.  This "Juror's Award Preview Exhibit" will run from November 1st to 20th.

Nonantum Parks Lose Funding

The Supreme Judicial Court of Massachusetts has ruled against the City of Newton, agreeing with lower courts that about $800,000 of money provided by The Community Preservation Act cannot be used to improve Stearns Park and Pellegrini Park, as the city had intended to do.  This does not mean that our parks shouldn't be or won't be improved, only that this source of funds can't be used.
